Erosion

Erosion is the washing away of the topmost layer of the soil by water or wind. It is majorly caused by water or wind. Human activities can also cause erosion. These activities are carried out by man in other to get food, minerals, shelter, economic development and social changes. Erosion has negative impact on people and the environment. There are five types of erosion namely: 1. Gully erosion 2. Contour erosion 3. Sheet erosion

At the end of the lesson, you should be able to : State the meaning of change. Mention examples of changes in the environment. list the differences between temporary change and permanent change. mention examples of temporary and permanent change                                                                     Everything around us changes? Change is when something becomes different. Things around us are always changing. All things change. Both living and nonliving things change from time to time. Some changes are reversible while some other changes are irreversible. The changes that are reversible are called temporary change while the changes that are irreversible are called permanent change.

The meaning of Erosion

Erosion is the washing away of the top layer of the surface of the earth by water or wind. Erosion can be caused by natural elements such as wind and glacial ice.  The key to erosion is something called "fluid flow." Water, air, and even ice are fluids because they tend to flow from one place to another due to the force of gravity. Of the three, liquid water is the most common agent of erosion because there's so much of it on the surface of the Earth.
